Virtual Tours

VisitEarth creates 360° Interactive Panoramas and Virtual Tours for conference centres, hotels, restaurants, tour operators and visitor attractions. We have a wide customer base from local authorities to small tourism enterprises. Below you will find examples of virtual tours.

Fullscreen 360° Interactive Panoramas:

These 360° Panos are ideal for full-screen Broadband, CD, Kiosk and Print use where quality cannot be compromised. QTVR currently sets the standard for interactive panoramas and is the preferred choice for most of our customers. The examples below are individual scenes:

Why a Virtual Tour?

Virtual Tours enable visitors to see where they want to see. Users can look 360° in all directions with the option to zoom in and out from different points of interest. Virtual Tours help guests choose a room or get a feel for the natural environment. They help to instil confidence and establish loyalty.

Our own research shows that Virtual Tours are the third most popular pages on a tourism website after the home and tariff/prices pages. According to a Pew Internet study in 2006 just over half of American adult Internet users have taken a virtual tour online.

What is a Plug-in?

The majority of interactive content uses a plug-in of one sort or another. We can support Flash, Java, Quicktime and Shockwave. If you have difficulty seeing any of the example tours on or from this page it is most likely because you do not have either the QuickTime or Java plug-ins which are used on this site. These are available via our support page.

We now recommend Adobe Flash for all Virtual Tours. According to Adobe, Flash now has an installation base of 98%.

What is an Interactive Panorama?

An Interactive Panorama or Immersive Image allows the visitor to see 360° by 180° around a scene in all directions. They add interactivity to your website and allow your customers to look where they want to look by simply pressing buttons or clicking with their mouse. Aside from being truly interactive as a 'sit-forward' medium they are also cheaper to produce than video which is primarily a 'sit-back' medium and require less bandwidth. An Interactive Panorama can include hotspots linking between 360° panos to form a Virtual Tour.

What is a Virtual Tour?

Virtual Tours include two or more 360° interactive panoramas and accompanying media such as floor plans, audio and stills. Users can click on hotspots both on the floor plans and within the immersive images to navigate individual 360° panoramas.
